In fighting games, these people who are drunk are able to fool and outsmart their opponents.
The Drunken Master fighting style is a popular form of kung fu. This was made famous by Jackie Chan’s early movies, in which he uses unusual moves, dodges, and strikes to fool his opponents, but only after he’s had a drink.
Fighting games have to be made for such a unique way to fight. Lucky for us, game designers have made some great fighters who welcome the ups and downs of getting beat up before and during a martial arts match, often with funny and impressive results. Here are some of the best drunk fighting game characters.
Jamie Siu — Street Fighter

Many people think that Street Fighter was the first fighting game. But it says a lot that, even though the series has a lot of fighters with different fighting styles, they haven’t added a drunken master yet.
Jamie comes in at this point. He uses a mix of drunken master kung fu and break dancing to make his moves more rhythmic and unpredictable. Jamie also has a special drink that he carries with him. In between putting down his opponent, he takes sips of this drink. Jamie can use stronger strikes and special moves when he drinks, but he has to finish the drinking animation while in a match for this to happen.
Cheng-Fu — Double Dragon

In Neo Geo’s fighting game Double Dragon, Cheng-Fu is the attacker who is always happy and drunk. He uses the same style of martial arts that Jackie Chan’s character, Wong Fei-hung, uses in the movie Drunken Master. This style is called Zui Quan.
Cheng-Fu’s appearance is a clear homage to Jackie Chan’s Drunken Master character, right down to the way he acts and how aloof he is. Compared to the other attackers, his moves might look silly and random, but they are just as dangerous. Cheng-Fu can beat opponents who don’t pay attention to him.
Drunken Fist — Shaolin Vs Wutang

The Shaolin vs. Wutang series is a tribute to kung fu and other famous martial arts movies. This indie battle game is a tribute to Bruce Lee, Jet Li, Donnie Yen, and other famous martial artists. It looks, sounds, and plays like an old-school kung fu movie.
In the Drunken Master movies, it’s no surprise that the Drunken Fist figure is made to look like Jackie Chan. The moves and strikes in Drunken Fist are done very well to look like Jackie Chan’s moves. Players can dodge attacks and hit foes with combos that make Drunken Fist look like he’s fumbling with his jug.
Bo’ Rai Cho — Mortal Kombat

In the Mortal Kombat games, there are a lot of strange fighters, and Bo’ Rai Cho fits right in, for better or worse. Bo’ Rai Cho is shown as an unclean, disheveled drunk, but he is actually a skilled fighter who uses his humble looks to beat his opponents.
Before and during fights, he drinks a lot of Outworld wine to fuel his unique fighting style, which includes belly bashes, fart clouds, and his signature puke puddles, which throw off his opponents. When they do these things, Bo’ Rai Cho often hits them with brutal strikes and combos.
Lei Wulong — Tekken

One of the most well-known characters in Tekken is Lei Wulong. He is the top officer for the Hong Kong International Police Force. This is a clear reference to Jackie Chan’s character in the Police Story movies. He took part in the King of Iron Fist Tournament to find out if the tournament’s director had any ties to the mafia.
Lei’s fighting style is a mix of Drunken Boxing and different animal-style kung fu stances. Lei can be sneaky if you know how to use his different animal movements. He can use special moves to avoid getting hit, and if an opponent falls for his tricks, he can hit them hard. One of his favorite moves is called “Drunken Boxing.” During this stance, Lei can hide his punches by moving his legs and arms in a jerky way. But Lei doesn’t have to be drunk to get into this position.
Shun Di — Virtua Fighter

Shun Di is Virtua Fighter’s local Drunken Master. Back in the day, he was thought to be one of the best kung fu teachers. But because he has a tendency to push his kids to their limits, he has lost most of them. During a drinking session, one of his friends told him that one of their students won first place in an international fighting competition. When Shun Di heard this, it made him want to fight in a competition around the world to find that student.
Shun Di’s “Suiken” fighting style looks like a drunk person’s movements, but the hits are actually very powerful. So, Shun Di’s martial arts are different from those of the other Virtua Fighter characters.
Brad Wong — Dead Or Alive

Most drunken master figures in fighting games look like Jackie Chan or Beggar So, but Dead or Alive’s drunken fighter has a different look.
Brad Wong is shown to have more attractive features and to wear modern casual clothes a lot. He still carries around a gourd full of booze, which he drinks and uses to fuel his drunken master techniques.
He has the most moves in the games where he appears, which means he can do a lot of combos. This takes advantage of the fact that a drunk master can be hard to predict. But this is made up for by the fact that most of his moves hit slower than those of other characters.
Chin Gentsai — King of Fighters

In the King of Fighters games, Chin Gentsai is the drunk master. He looks like Beggar So, the old drunk master who taught Jackie Chan’s character in the movie Drunken Master how to use the drunken fist.
Chin Gentsai was a well-known martial artist when he was younger. But as he got bigger, he figured out how to get under the bottle. He meets Sie Kensou, Athena Asamiya, and Bao during one of his drinking binges. Chin started to teach his new students, which lead to the start of the Psycho Soldiers.
Chin’s drunken master method is to jump into his opponents and try to knock them down. If he drinks alcohol during 8 Ball Pool, he can use his Fire Breath move. As he drinks more, his strikes also get stronger.
