Don’t Starve Together: 10 Best Weapons, Ranked

Because in Don’t Starve Together, you won’t only have to worry about being hungry.

You and your friends can die in many ways in Don’t Starve Together, including from hunger. There are also many dangerous enemies and scary shadows out there in the world with you and your friends. And they will almost always kill you faster than not having enough Berries will.

You’ll be able to kill these enemies with weapons you make yourself, as long as you have the right tools. We went back through Don’t Starve Together and picked some of the best tools to help you deal with the things that go bump in the night.

The Spear: The Early-Game Standard

The Spear: The Early-Game Standard
Crafting Recipe One Rope, one Flint, and two Twigs
How to Get It From the Science Machine’s Fight tab

The basic spear is your main weapon, especially early in the game when you don’t have many resources. You can get all of these things on the first day of Penalty Kick Online. But don’t ignore it just because it’s easy to make because it can hit 150 times and does a decent 34 damage.

You can make this on your own with a Science Machine, and you can also find Spears lying around the world near failed survivor set pieces. The Spear doesn’t do the kind of damage you want to bring into a fight with a boss, so it isn’t very high on the list.

The Bat Bat: You Can Heal Heal

The Bat Bat: You Can Heal Heal
Crafting Recipe One Purple Gem, two Living Logs, and three Batilisk Wings
How to Get It Make a sample at the Shadow Manipulator.

The Bat Bat has a lot of rules and restrictions, and it takes a lot of materials to make, so it might not be worth it. This wing-shaped tool will drain the life force of any enemy that gets in your way, just like a vampire bat.

It does 42.5 damage, which isn’t a lot compared to the other weapons at the Shadow Manipulator, and heals you for 6.8 every time it hits you. But be careful, because the same thing will also drain your reason by 3.4 if your health is less than full.

Wigfrid’s Battle Spear: A Limited Improvement

Wigfrid's Battle Spear: A Limited Improvement
Crafting Recipe Two Flint, two Twigs, and two Gold Nuggets
How to Get It Play as Wigfrid

If you like her Battle Spear, we hope you like Wigfrid, because she is the only character who can make it. But she will come into the world with one already in her collection, so she won’t have to make it too often unless someone else wants it instead of a normal spear.

It can be used 200 times and does 42.5 damage each time. Wigfrid is a great fighter because of this and the fact that her special damage modifier is 1.25x.

The Tentacle Spike: Worth Risking Your Life?

The Tentacle Spike: Worth Risking Your Life?
Crafting Recipe N/A
How to Get It Occasional drops from Tentacles

When it comes to guns, this one is a little hard to find. In the Marsh Biome, a mob called Tentacles can spawn underground and shoot up from the bog to hit players and other mobs. It’s hard to kite this beast, but if you leave it alone with Spiders or bosses, they will wear down its 500hp over time.

The Tentacle Spike is a great early- to mid-game tool if you’re brave enough to go get it. Every time you kill a tentacle, it has a 50% chance to drop. It does 51 damage.

The Ham Bat: Meat Melee

The Ham Bat: Meat Melee
Crafting Recipe Two Twigs, Two Meat, and one Pig Skin
How to Get It Prototype at the Alchemy Engine

Wilson says when he looks at it, “This doesn’t seem clean,” and he’s right. It’s up to you if this is how you want to spend your rare, expensive food, but the Ham Bat will last a lot longer than you might think.

The meat on the weapon means it can only be used for ten days, but you can use it as many times as you want during that time. It does 59.5 damage, so it’s a great weapon to bring into fight when you don’t have to worry about how long it will last. When you are done, you can use it to feed Berry Bushes.

The Dark Sword: Devastate Your Sanity

The Dark Sword: Devastate Your Sanity
Crafting Recipe Five Nightmare Fuel, and one Living Log
How to Get It Prototype it at a Shadow Manipulator

Technically, the Dark Sword is tied for the second-strongest weapon in Don’t Starve Together. It’s also a fan choice, but the high cost of using it keeps it from being higher on our list.

While your character has the Dark Sword in their hands, their mind will drop at a shocking rate of -20 per minute. And since most boss fights make you lose Sanity just for facing them, it seems more important to keep as much Sanity as you can.

The Glass Cutter: The Clear-Cut Choice

The Glass Cutter: The Clear-Cut Choice
Crafting Recipe One Plank and six Moon Shards
How to Get It Use the Celestial Tab when near the Celestial Altar to make it.

This glass sword is hard to get, but it does the same damage as the Dark Sword and doesn’t drain your sanity, so it’s more than worth it. To make it, you’ll need to find the Celestial Altar, so take to the seas and sail to Lunar Island.

What really makes the Glass Cutter worth the nightmare trip is that it loses half as much durability when facing any of Charlie’s minions, like Shadow Creatures, Shadow Chess Pieces, or the Ancient Fuelweaver.

The Morning Star: Hazardous When Wet

The Morning Star: Hazardous When Wet
Crafting Recipe One Volt Goat Horn, two Nite, and two Electrical Doodads
How to Get It Prototype it at an Alchemy Machine

Most of the time, this shiny tool only does 43 damage per hit, so what makes it special? It not only gives off a lot of light, but if your target is wet, it also does 72 damage. This makes it great for exploring caves.

If you hit a Volt Goat with one of these, the poor animal will charge up, making it easier to farm Electric Milk. The Morning Star, on the other hand, loses longevity when it’s being used, so make sure to put it away when you’re not using it.

The Thulecite Club: Late-Game Hard-Hitter

The Thulecite Club: Late-Game Hard-Hitter
Crafting Recipe Four Thulecite, four Nightmare Fuel, and three Living Logs
How to Get It When you’re at an Ancient Pseudoscience Station, you can make it.

If you want to make a Thulecite Club, you’ll need to be near a working Ancient Pseudoscience Machine. This is a good reason to hurry through the dangerous Ruins. The weapon can never be tested, but this club stands out from the rest because of its unique passive.

With every hit, there is a 20% chance that a Shadow Tentacle will appear to help you attack close enemies. Not only that, but it gives you a 10% speed boost as well!

The Alarming Clock: Make Older Wanda OP

The Alarming Clock: Make Older Wanda OP
Crafting Recipe Three Time Pieces, eight Nightmare Fuel, and four Marble
How to Get It The Clocksmithy Tab (exclusive to Wanda)

Wanda is the only one who can use this whip-like weapon. When charged with four Nightmare Fuel, it can deal 81 damage, and that’s before taking into account all of Wanda’s age benefits, which all have different animations when she uses the weapon.

Wanda does more damage with Shadow weapons as she gets older. With the Alarming Clock, she can do up to 142 times as much damage as she did when she was younger. Not only that, but you can add more Nightmare Fuel to the Alarming Clock to keep it from breaking, which you’ll want to do since old Wanda isn’t very strong on her own.
