In Final Fantasy X-2, you can change the jobs of your party members on the fly by switching their dresspheres. Here’s where each one can be found.
In the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy 10-2 is one of the more controversial games. Some people don’t like it because it has a very different tone from its predecessor, but others support it because it has great gameplay and a new take on the formula.
The Spherechange system is a big reason why the game’s fighting system is considered one of the best in the series. Garment Grids allow Yuna, Rikku, and Paine to change their class in the middle of a fight. This gives them a lot of freedom and lets them use tactics in the sometimes overwhelming fights. The party needs to find dresspheres all over Spira in order to use these classes.
Gunner

- Acquired: Chapter 1
- Abilities: Gunplay, Trigger Happy
Yuna’s usual class is Gunner, which is one of the four dresspheres you start the game with.
This class uses Gunplay skills, which are physical moves that don’t need to be charged, and the Trigger Happy skill, which fires a shot every time you press a button in a short amount of time. It’s almost the same as Irvine’s Limit from Final Fantasy 8.
Thief

- Acquired: Chapter 1
- Abilities: Steal, Flee, Flimflam
Like the Gunner, the Thief dressphere is given to you right away when the game starts. It is Rikku’s normal class, and it gives her the ability to steal from enemies.
It also has Flimflam skills that make Thief useful in other ways, like stealing MP from enemies who use magic or giving them status effects like Slow and Stop.
Warrior

- Acquired: Chapter 1
- Abilities: Sentinel, Assault, Swordplay
Paine starts out as a Warrior, which is his normal class.
It is a physically focused class that can use a variety of elemental skills and great strikes that lower stats. These will help in almost every hard fight in the game.
Songstress

- Acquired: Chapter 1
- Abilities: Dance, Sing
The Songstress dressphere is one of the first things you get in the game. It is part of the Spherechange lesson and you get it very early on in the first chapter.
It’s the first dressphere you’ll get that can’t fight physically and instead focuses on giving status effects and changing stats. It’s a great way for a support class to learn some really helpful moves.
Black Mage

- Acquired: Mt. Gagazet – Chapter 1
- Abilities: Focus, MP Absorb, Black Magic
The Black Mage is one of the most famous characters in the Final Fantasy series, and the game gives you this dress very early on. You’ll get it at the end of the story task on Mt. Gagazet at the start of the game, after you’ve beaten the Leblanc Syndicate and Boris at the top of the mountain.
This dressphere is all about elemental magic damage and is great at the start of the game, but it gets worse as the game goes on.
White Mage

- Acquired: Besaid – Chapter 1
- Abilities: Pray, Vigor, White Magic
Final Fantasy 10-2 starts off with another staple of the series. In Chapter 1, you have to finish two story tasks. The first one is on Besaid Island. You’ll get this dressphere when you finish the task by killing the Flame Dragon in the Besaid cave.
This class is the perfect healer, and you should always have at least two of them on at least two of your party’s Garment Grids, just in case.
Gun Mage

- Acquired: Moonflow – Chapter 1 or Chapter 2
- Abilities: Scan, Blue Bullet, Fiend Hunter
As early as Chapter 1, you can use the Gun Mage. Talk to the small man named Tobli at the Moonflow and accept his task.
You’ll find Tobli’s wagon if you go south toward Djose Temple and the Mushroom Rock Road. You will get the Gun Mage dressphere as a reward if you lead the group back to the Moonflow.
If you miss the chance in Chapter 1, you can get the dressphere by doing another task for Tobli in Chapter 2. Selling tickets to people in the area is part of this task. If you sell at least six tickets, you’ll get this dressphere as a reward.
This game’s version of the Blue Mage class is the Gun Mage, who can learn powerful moves from enemies by getting hit by them.
Alchemist

- Acquired: Calm Lands – Chapter 2, Chapter 3, or Chapter 5
- Abilities: Mix, Stash
There are some steps you must take to get the Alchemist dressphere as soon as possible.
- Chapter 1: Go to the New Yevon offices and talk to Clasko. Invite him to come on board the Celsius.
- Chapter 2: Do the task “Cuckoo for Chocobos” on the Mi’ihen Highroad, and then talk to Calli outside the Travel Agency. Ask her to come on board the Celsius with her Chocobo.
- Chapter 2: Go to the Calm Lands and do the Clean Sweep task for Clasko.
In what used to be the Monster Arena in Final Fantasy 10, you have to beat a certain monster for this task. The problem is that every paddock has a fiend, and all but one of them are just images.
Follow the eyes of each fiend until you find one that doesn’t look in the same direction as the others. This is the real one. You’ll have to do this job more than once.
Fights here can be hard because the fiends are high-level Dark Elements and Queen Coeurls that can do a lot of damage. The key to success might be to bring a way to cause Silence and use some Thunder-elemental weapons. At the end of the task, you will be given the Alchemist dressphere.
If you didn’t meet the requirements early on to get Clasko to the Calm Lands, he will still be there for you to take on the task in Chapter 5. You’ll definitely want to do this, since the Alchemist is a great class that gives you access to infinite items and the Mix ability.
Dark Knight

- Acquired: Bevelle – Chapter 2, Chapter 3, or Chapter 5
- Abilities: Darkness, Charon, Arcana
This dressphere is in a box in the Bevelle Underground, which is first seen in Chapter 2. The chest is near the end of the area, and to get to it, you have to solve an easy platform puzzle. You have to use the lifts and switches near the end of the underground to make platforms appear so you can jump over to the chest.
It’s worth it because the Dark Knight is a very strong class that can use its own HP to deal a lot of damage and has access to many status ailments.
Samurai

- Acquired: Kilika Island – Chapter 3 or Chapter 5
- Abilities: Spare Change, Zantetsu, Bushido
It’s hard to miss this dress sphere. In Chapter 3, when you go to churches all over Spira, keep an eye on the floor in the Kilika Temple’s Cloister of Trials. It is in the lower part of the room, just before the Chamber of the Fayth.
If you didn’t get the dressphere in Chapter 3, you can get it in Chapter 5 from a box in the Chamber of the Fayth of the Kilika Temple.
The Samurai class is very strong physically and has a great skill called “Fireworks” that does a lot of damage to all enemies.
Lady Luck

- Acquired: Luca – Chapter 3 or Chapter 5
- Abilities: Gamble, Bribe, Tantalize
As the game’s gambler class would suggest, getting the Lady Luck dressphere takes a bit of luck. You will win this dressphere if you beat Shinra in the Sphere Break tournament in Chapter 3 or if you beat him at Sphere Break in Chapter 5. This is best done in Chapter 3, though, because Shinra gets much harder to beat in Chapter 5.
In Sphere Break, the best way to win is to practice with the easy opponents and then save your game right before you face Shinra. If you lose, just start over and try again until you win. You really don’t want to be stuck fighting him in Chapter 5.
This dressphere can use classic skills like “Bribe” to get items and use Slots powers to cause trouble.
Berserker

- Acquired: Macalania – Chapter 3
- Abilities: Instinct, Howl, Berserk
It’s pretty easy to get the Berserker dressphere. At the Macalania Travel Agency, you just need to finish the task “Secure the Agency!”This task has you fight in six battles in a row. When you’re done, you’ll get the dressphere, the Pride of the Sword Garment Grid, and an Al Bhed Primer.
Berserkers are tough fighters who hit hard and fast. When they are in the Berserk state, which makes them attack almost non-stop, they are especially dangerous.
Trainer

- Acquired: Mt. Gagazet – Chapter 3
- Abilities: Pet Abilities
When you visit Kimahri in Chapter 3, you will get the Trainer, but only if you made the right choices early in the game.
In Chapter 2, you can talk to Kimahri about his worries on Mt. Gagazet. If you want the Trainer dressphere, you must say “You have to figure this out on your own” when asked what to do.
Whether you answer the other Ronso’s questions correctly or not has nothing to do with whether you get the dresssphere or not. Only what happens in Chapters 3 and 5 matter.
Each party member’s Trainer class is very different, giving them their own set of skills that all have a similar theme. For example, Rikku’s monkey friend Ghiki can use stealing skills and cause some status ailments.
Mascot

- Acquired: Celsius – Chapter 5 OR Fiend Arena
- Abilities: Kupo!, Wildcat, or Cutlery
To get the Mascot dressphere, you have to do a lot of work. You have to get an Episode Complete in every place in the game.
Different places have different standards for an Episode Complete, but it’s easy to get it wrong. Almost certainly, if you want to get this dressphere, you will need a guide.
But in the HD Remaster version of Funny Shooter, you can get this dressphere by fighting in the Fiend Arena as early as Chapter 1. This extra sidequest uses the Creature Creator system to pit AI monsters against players for prizes.
To get the Mascot dressphere from the Fiend Arena, you have to win the Youth League Tournament. You can do this after you’ve won the Grand Cup six times on Hard mode. The Youth League Tournament is very hard, so it’s a good idea to look up some ways to win.
Festivalist

- Acquired: Celsius – Chapter 1
- Abilities: Festivities
The Festivalist is only available in the HD Remaster. To get it, all you have to do is talk to Brother on the Celsius. This class has powers that have to do with festivals and can be very helpful at the start of the game. For example, Yuna can cast random high-level spells in a chain.
This class was made by an 8-year-old who entered a contest that was promoted in the Final Fantasy 10-2 Ultimania.
Psychic

- Acquired: Fiend Arena
- Abilities: Teleport, Psionics, Excellence
You can only get the Psychic dressphere by fighting in the Fiend Arena, which is only available in the HD Remaster. To get this dressphere, you only have to win the Standard League, which is a lot easier than the Youth League Tournament you had to win to get the Mascot dressphere.
This dressphere has a lot of really strong moves and can even move around the battlefield on purpose to get in a better spot with Teleport.
Special Dresspheres

Special Dresspheres: Yuna, Rikku, and Paine’s dresspheres in their special forms from Final Fantasy 10-2
In the game, there are three Special Dresspheres, one for each member of the party. When these are used, the other members of the party briefly leave the fight and are replaced by two parts that are attached to the main dressphere.
These Special Dresspheres are very strong and often have a wide range of weapons, from status effects to damage from elements.
To SphereChange into a Special Dressphere, you must have already SphereChanged into every other Dressphere in your Garment Grid during the current fight. When you get your first Special Dressphere, you also get a Garment Grid with only two places. This makes using your Special Dressphere very easy and quick.
Floral Fallal
- Acquired: Djose Highroad – Chapter 2
- Abilities: Fallalery, Great Whirl, Libra
If you aren’t paying attention, it’s easy to miss this dress circle, but you have to do it. During Chapter 2, you will have a story task that sends you to the Djose Highroad to pick up a Leblanc Syndicate uniform. On the right side of the road, behind a rock, you will see this dressphere lying on the ground.
Machina Maw
- Acquired: Bikanel Desert – Chapter 2
- Abilities: Machinations, Vajra, Revival
You will get Rikku’s special dressphere during the task where you collect Leblanc Syndicate uniforms to get into their hideout. This is similar to how you got Floral Fallal. As part of this task, you will go to the Bikanel Desert and find the Machina Maw dressphere at an oasis.
Full Throttle
- Acquired: Macalania Woods – Chapter 1 or Chapter 2
- Abilities: Throttle, Fright, Sword Dance
This dressphere is offered in Chapter 1 and can be missed, but the steps to get it can also be done in Chapter 2. Go to the Macalania Woods and turn right at the northern crossing. This will take you to where the boss fight with Spherimorph will take place in Final Fantasy 10.
Some Guado will be here. Talk to Tromell four times in the middle of the area, and he’ll give you the Full Throttle dressphere for Paine.
